"STAIRCASE OF SOULS" - In relationships there are qualities in a person that you connect with. Although the relationship ends, you seek out those connections in others. The staircase a metaphor for life, and souls the individuals one meets.
"VAYA MI BASSA NOVA' - (Instrumental). Bossa Nova music from the 70's - smooth, romantic, and sexy. I composed the guitar melody, added bass, lead guitar, and a tamborine to this backing beat to give it a "joy of being with the one you love." (Backing track, Venado Tuerto, Argentina).
"LIFE"- Cell phones are everywhere. This song is a reflection of our present day cell phone addiction. Cell phones often impede our appreciation for the beauty of our world.
"STATE OF AFFAIRS" - It seems more than ever how much we are ALL affected by the present day politics. While shopping, I noticed there were no clerks to ring me up. An honor system for a person financially struggling? How things have changed, some for the better, some for the worse.
"CONFESSIONS" (I'M TELLIN' YOU) -
How many of us have been in a situation where we have fallen for someone already spoken for. This song is that situation, a confession. So picture the lyricists using the song in real time to tell the person.. "Hey, I'm tellin ya now, so what ya gonna do?" With Bernice Bragg and Susan Spaulding.
